The Ultimate Packing List for Your Kimberley Cruise
Embarking on an adventure to the Kimberley region of Western Australia is an experience like no other. Whether exploring the rugged outback or embarking on a cruise along the remote coastline, packing is crucial for a comfortable and enjoyable trip.
In this guide, we will examine the items you should consider packing for a Kimberley cruise onboard Kimberley Pearl.
The Kimberley Region and Experience on Kimberley Pearl
The Kimberley region experiences a tropical monsoon climate with two main seasons: the dry season (May to September) and the wet season (October to April).
Dry season (May to September)
The dry season is the most popular time for visitors to travel to the Kimberley. The weather generally consists of clear blue skies, daytime temperatures up to 32°C, minimal rainfall, low humidity, and cooler evening temperatures around 15°C. The dry season climate is very comfortable for spending time outdoors.
Wet season (October to April)
The wet season experiences days of warmer weather of 35-40°C during the day, high humidity, heavy rainfall, and evening temperatures of 25-30°C. The wet season is often referred to as 'waterfall season' as the waterfalls in the Kimberley begin to flow from the heavy rainfall, and the landscape changes to become green and lush. Whilst some may be deterred by the weather, the fishing opportunities and waterfalls available during this time do not disappoint.
Excursions onboard Kimberley Pearl
There is a seemingly never-ending list of fun things to do in the Kimberley. Guests on the Kimberley Pearl are fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in various excursions throughout the cruise, so it is important to consider these when selecting your items to bring. Excursions throughout the cruise include general outdoor sightseeing, fishing, short walks on beach fronts or rocky terrain, oystering, crabbing and swimming in freshwater holes.
What to Pack For a Kimberley Cruise onboard Kimberley Pearl
All guests travelling onboard Kimberley Pearl are provided with a complimentary duffel bag to use as luggage. The duffel bags are quite spacious and comfortable and fit everything you need for your trip.
Due to the handling of luggage during transfers and the storage available in the cabins, guests are requested to pack no more than 10kg in their bags for their Kimberley cruise. We know 10kg doesn't sound like much, but just remember that guests can have their clothes laundered onboard the vessel at no extra charge.
