The history of KIMBERLEY PEARL

Our pearl of the Kimberley!

Formerly a vessel of the famed Paspaley Pearls modern pearl lugger fleet, the Kimberley Pearl, originally named “The Dalumba”, worked the shell grounds off Eighty Mile Beach and Compass Rose. Teams of six divers would work and live aboard the “Dalumba”, drifting across the shell beds collecting Pinctada Maxima for the purposes of surface cultivated Australian South Sea Pearls.

With her pearling days behind her, The Dalumba has been renovated, refurbished, and renamed to the beautiful vessel with us today, Kimberley Pearl. Today, Kimberley Pearl has the delight of sharing the incredible landscape and hidden gems of the Kimberley Coast. Kimberley Pearl boasts a modern design with six air-conditioned cabins with private ensuites, an open galley, cushioned seating at the bow, and is equipped with 3 custom-built tenders.

Kimberley Pearls history and connection with the region makes her unique …. a true pearler!
